Biography:
Teresa is currently the Adult Education and Literacy (AEL) Outreach Specialist at Iowa Western Community College. For the last 16 years, she has worked full time in Adult Education, in a variety of capacities. She also taught AEL / English as a Second Language (ESL) classes part time for 12 years and really enjoys working with the Adult Education and Literacy – High School Equivalency Test (HiSET) & ESL students. She holds a Bachelor of Science, in Speech Communication, with a minor in Psychology, from the University of Nebraska at Omaha. She also obtained a certificate in Training and Development.

Presentation Description:
The information shared is about the Adult Education and Literacy - High School Equivalency Test (HiSET) classes, the English as Second Language classes and the Education 2 Employment short-term training programs – in the areas of Health Occupations, IT / Business, Manufacturing, and Logistics. The presentation includes an overview of the above along with specifics about class locations and times.
Who is your target audience:
Could include any or all of the following:
Adults who are looking to learn/improve their English. People who are interesting in working towards their High School Equivalency Test (HiSET) Diploma. And/or, Iowa residents who would like to receive free short-term training for a job in Healthcare Occupations, IT/Business, Manufacturing or Logistics.
If you know adults who are looking for information that will help develop life, work What is your Message: and literacy skills - Specifically Adult Education and Literacy – HiSET and/or ESL classes. And /or, would like to learn more about the Education 2 Employment short-term training offerings that are free for Iowa residents, 18 years of age or older, who qualify.
Presentation Length:
From approximately 15 minutes or up to about 45 minutes (with computer equipment). This can be modified for your needs.
A Presentation Requirements (AV equipment, room size, etc.):
PowerPoint presentation is available if there is a computer and projection screen (but not required). If the internet is available the presentation could also include video clips.
