The Poverty Simulation is an immersive experience that deepens understanding of the challenges faced by individuals living in poverty, fostering empathy, awareness, and meaningful discussions. GOALS OF THE EXPERIENCE: Deepen understanding of the complexities of poverty. Foster empathy for individuals facing financial hardship. Inspire action and advocacy for poverty-related issues. Participants take on diverse financial roles and navigate real-life challenges like housing, employment, and healthcare. They interact with volunteers at service stations, simulating weeks in 20–30 minute rounds over 2–4 cycles. The session ends with a group discussion on key insights.
